Below we will show you some developing outputs from our 100m city model the UltraHD!

You'll see the 3D city model integrated from Karlsruhe on the first movie and a temperature forecast map animation of real model output on the second one!

Be ware, that this is prelimineray model data and only shared to demonstrate our current development status!

Enjoy! :)

This video shows the land use and 3D city model included into the UltraHD model, so the weather model "knows" where structures are and can deal with the resulting changes in reflection and disturbances. You can see that the building height is also resolved in this model as even shadows are visible. Later on, we draw the 100m grid on top of the 3D model to indicate what grid points the weather model physically resolves in the resulting weather forecast.

The next video shows temperature forecasts for Karlsruhe. You can see on the left upper corner the forecasting our in UTC time and darker red shades indicate higher temperatures. You can see that the ultra-fine grained model resolves small local phenomena of colder air dripping down into the valley.
